	Miss Nepal Earth Rojisha Shahi has long-cherished the Miss Nepal dream. She was barely in middle school when she decided to take part in the national beauty contest, and 2013 is her year to shine. The 19-year-old beauty exudes confidence, a trait she believes is one of her major strengths. An above-average student currently pursuing a BBA degree, Rojisha is more than just a pretty face. The Post’s Rajita Dhungana talked to the young lady, soon to represent Nepal in the Miss Earth pageant, about her dreams and aspirations. We all wish Rojisha the very best of luck. How has life changed since you were crowned Miss Nepal Earth 2013? I don’t think there has been much change. I’m pretty much the same Rojisha I used to be before I won the title. The pageant experience, especially the title, does come with its fair share of responsibilities. These, I believe, only serve to mould me into a more mature, well-rounded individual and I’m happier for that. 	In honour of National Environment Week (1–7 June) and World Environment Day (WED), which takes place on 5 June, the Miss Earth South Africa have been invited by the Environmental Ministry of Côte d’Ivoire. The Ministry extended the invitation because of the long-term sustainability initiatives that have been established by the organisation in communities across South Africa over the past decade. The Miss Earth South Africa is ranked among the most environmentally active women empowerment and leadership programmes affiliated with the International Miss Earth. 	In honour of National Environment Week (1–7 June) and World Environment Day, which takes place on 5 June, the Miss Earth South Africa visited the Melville Koppies West Nature Reserve for their annual clean up project on Saturday, 1 June. The clean-up saw community members from the Melville area joining forces with the Miss Earth South Africa Regional Finalists, members of the IMPERIAL Toyota team, a number of Generation Earth Councils Miss Earth South Africa celebrity guests, as well as the Southern Africa UNEP Youth Ambassador, Ella Bella. The Miss Earth South Africa organisation has a long-standing tradition of clean up activations at Melville Koppies Nature Reserve. It was a star-studded affair with South Africa socialite, Edith Venter Swartz and Cape Town-based saxophonist, George Sax among the celebrity guests who turned up to get their hands dirty with the 2013 Miss Earth South Africa Regional Finalists. 	The day before World Environment Day, a photo shoot was held at Vienna RINGSTRASSEN-GALERIEN with Miss Earth Austria 2012 winners. The elemental queens were subjected to elaborate body painting symbolizing each elements. Eight stylists including two-time Bodypainting World Champion Gabriele Hajek-Renner took five hours to transform them. The queens later was photographed by Isabella Abel. 	Look top Beauty Productions is launching the biggest environment oriented beauty pageant in Brazil today coinciding with World Environment Day. The launch will happen this afternoon at 4:30 at Seminário “Desafios e Legados de uma Copa do Mundo Sustentável” sponsored by the Secretaria Estadual de Meio Ambiente (State Department of Environment). The event will be attended by state officials and businessmen involved in environmental promotion with the estimated audience of 1,000 people. José Alonso Dias, CEO of Look Top Beauty Productions, said that World Environment Day brings message of conservation and environmental awareness which is perfect time to launch the only female beauty pageant that combines feminine beauty and ecological causes. The Miss Earth Brazil 2013 pageant will be held from August 14th - 24th in the municipalities of Caxambu and São Lourenço in the state of Minas Gerais. 	Former Miss India Prachi Mishra is all set to make her debut in Bollywood with Zaalim Dilli. Although Prachi is not nervous (even on the first day of shoot) as she puts it, she knows how hard it is to even get a break. "It's not easy in Bollywood. It's tough for new comers and I know this because a few of my model friends are doing commercials but are still struggling. You have to keep waiting for people to respond. For me, I would often copy actresses as a child but never dreamt of becoming one. But then Miss India happened and because of that, I have always stayed in front of the camera", says Prachi. Recently two PTA meetings were scheduled from two different schools of her two younger sisters at the same time, since their Mom can't be at two places at once, Anjeza will serve as the proxy for their Mom. 	Miss Earth Granada 2013 pageant, a provincial preliminary for Miss Earth Spain, will be held at Armilla Theatre on June 8th. Organizers of the pageant, Monalisa Eventos, announced it on World Environment Day to show solidarity with environmental protection. 	In early May Djoa Strassburg visited Plan Switzerland in Zurich to learn more about the organization - one of which she will champion during her one year in office. Plan Switzerland is an independent children's charity that works with over 2000 international and national non government organizations (NGO's). Its goal is to improve the living conditions of disadvantage children and their families. During her visit Plan Switzerland did an interview with her. Plan: Djoa what made you want to work with Plan Switzerland on your project in Nepal? Djoa Strasbourg: I can identify with Plan Switzerland's good work. I am happy to join a worldwide organization committed to positive change. The project in Nepal for the liberation of Kamalari girls I find very worthy of support. We can not just stand and watch as these girls get exploited every day! Plan : What you want to achieve in your term of office? Djoa : I want to help Plan Switzerland to raise public awareness and motivate them to support the fight against Kamalari system in Nepal. I think that we can achieve a lot if we have a common goal.
