Traditional Costume expresses an identity through outfit, which is usually associated with a geographic area or a period of time in history.
It can also indicate social, marital and/or religious status. Such costumes often come in two forms: one for everyday occasions, the other
for festivals and formal wear.

Beauty contests opens the coronation night with their fabulous and creative number by showcasing the beauty of each candidates wearing
their national costumes according to their respective city, state, or country especially in the 90s edition that every pageants gave recognition
for the best entry or entries.

Year after year, the National Costumes evolve as the creativity of the designers are improving and touch the history of every nation.
Some of the designers patterned their creation in many ways. Some, with financial constrains, they created cheaper costume but eye-catching,
some just created by their own idea which lacks the essence of the real value of one’s costume.

There are many kinds of costumes we see in all kinds of certified beauty pageants. There are many inspiration created and patterned in any ways.
As we continue with this journey to elaborate some important essence of a Beauty Pageant, let us see these kinds of national costume.

REALISTIC National Costume

The designs were patterned from the

traditional National Costume of a nation.

The materials, structure and even the headdress

conceptualized the real tradition of the nation's costume.
The designers accessorized the candidates with earrings,

necklaces, bracelets and even anklets to grasp

the real traditional costume.

Mostly the material used

comes from the country itself.

FESTIVE COSTUME

The creativeness of the designs patterned from the festival celebrated in a given country.
They accessorize the wearer with headdress, mask, umbrella, and any props that made the candidate looks like
attending and conceptualizing the essence of the festival in a given town in a country.

COLORFUL COSTUMES

The appearance of the costume is only colorful but

did not signify the real traditional costume.
They decorate the candidate with different touch

of attractive colors which make the wearer

an apple of the eye
of the audience.

In this costume, traditional garments are often worn at special events or celebrations.
It is also shows the cultural activities and well known items,
place or things that the representative worn.

FLORAL

The costume was beautified by attaching flowers, leaves

and even bark and branches of a tree.

The designer/s decorated the costume with

authentic flowers and leaves which made the contestant

looks like a bouquet of flowers or a flower arrangement

from weddings, birthdays and other flower festivals.

to the candidates dress. These certain fruits represent
the nations vast of plantation and farms.
