What happened to them in 2006 & 2010?

HONESTLY, I LIKE MARELISA I THINK THAT SHE LOOKS LIKE A SWEET GIRL. ALSO, HER BODY TYPE SEEMS RECTANGULAR AND THAT'S FINE WITH ME BECAUSE SOME GIRLS ARE LIKE THAT AND WHAT'S MOST IMPORTANT IS THAT SHE LOOKS FEMININE. MANY MODELS HAVE RECTANGULAR BODY TYPES AND I SAW MARELISA AS A "DARK HORSE" FOR MISS UNIVERSE.

JICTZAD WAS NEVER MY FAVORITE WHILE SHE COMPETED.

Bad choices, especially in 2006.   

When a big favorite don't make the top, people ask: "what happened?" and want to find answers. But, this is not easy.
1) People speak about beauty: beauty is relative, so, is not a serious criterion. Judges can see the beauty different like the fans.
2) People speak about body: the weigh, the waist, the heigth, the 90-60-90; but we see so different girls in the top. Marelisa havent waist (have a retangular body), but Ariela did not have and placed in Top 5. Vênus was full of stretch marks (striae) and placed in Top 5. Olivia had only 1,66m and won; so, what is a serios criterion? (The only thing who Trump and Shugart spoke once, is that girls - Alicia and Zuleika - who gained weigh "were big problems". So, personaly I think they only don't want girls with problems of overweight).
3) The interview: this is a big question or "the question", because the fans don't see the interviewes - and this can be the principal point who make a miss stay out the top.
A miss is a aggregate of things: beauty (is not the principal point), personality, oratory, intelligence, elegance, posture, aura...
So, about Marelisa and Jictzad, I think they had not the "aggregate things" who the MUO wait - or other misses have more "aggregate things".
The ansver is not easy, in any case.

I think that both girls could look much better if they were styled differently!

YES, THIS IS ALSO TRUE. SOME STYLES ARE MORE SOOTHING THAN OTHERS DEPENDING ON THE INDIVIDUAL.
