People En Español awarded the 23-year-old Colombian footballer the annual title in part due to his World Cup 2014 heroics, his $100 million transfer to Real Madrid, and the release of his own line of branded underpants.

"He's a very attractive man," said his wife, Daniela Ospina. "But what I most like is the way he is, his personality, it's what I really love."

The soccer player skyrocketed to superstardom after leading Colombia to the quarterfinal match of the World Cup. Although his team lost to Brazil, Rodriguez took home the Golden Boot, awarded to the tournament's top goalscorer.
