Lucia Tavares Petterle is the only Brazilian who captured the MW crown. In 1971.
She was at this time a medical student and did not crowned her successor. The history of her reign is a mistery. Is rumored that she had no interest to be a beauty queen, but to be a Doctor and because this, she was back to Brazil months after her win. So, the MWO did not invited her for the Miss World 1972
