The doubts about the Miss Brazil Universe

The pageant is not certain in 2016

In Brazil the issue is not new. Truly, it began years ago, before the country host the Miss Universe in 2011. Before this year already there were rumours about the bad economic situation of the organization, Gaeta. The fans, at these times, were very displeased with the pageant and the bad results at MU.
In 2011/12, Band TV (who was since 2003 the official TV and partner of Gaeta) bought the Miss Universe franchise and then the fans waited a "new contest". But wasn't so. Is said that the new organization (named Enter) did not know "what and how" make the contest, so invited the old coordinators to make the Miss Brazil Univ again. A new displease for the fans.

The mistakes of the Enter:
- maintain the old coordinators
- bought the pageant without a plan
- have not rules (they changed the rules every year, involving the state of residence, degree of instruction, english skills and height, for example)

The bad audiences and public interest:
This is a important issue in Brazil. When in the begining of the 2000s the audience made a average/rating of 8 points, in 2014 the decadence was notorius: only 2.4 (is said that in Venezuela and Phils, in a comparison, the average is 80-95). Was said that at Enter/Band the bad audiences fell like a bomb past year.
We need remember that Brazil had a Golden Era, in the 50-60s, when the Miss Brazil was one of the greatest shows in the country during the year. The audiences began to fall in the 70s and today Brazilians, in general, have not interest on misses.
Other point that we need remember is that in 2011 the Miss Universe made a good audience/rating on Band TV, with 11-14 points. But this was an exception!

Crisis, sponsors and the future:
On the beginning of 2015, was said that Band TV was having economic problems. They really dismissed presenters and ended other projects. Now, Brazil is going through a economic crisis and new rumours indicate a new problem: the sponsors said “no” this year because Brazilian crisis. Are not times to make unnecessary investiments and be a sponsor of a beauty pageant, in Brazil is considered totaly unnecessary (don't forget the bad audiences/ratings).
So, the pageant is a incognite in the future and also this year. Enter only made one official annoucement days ago, saying the pageant will be held in november/december. No more! And so, the rumors continue and they are not good. Is said that the pageant is not guaranteed in 2016 by Enter/Band.

Yes... during the last years, more and more, but we have finally a date this year: November 19.

Miss Brazil Universe has, apparently, a new owner. The comment was made yesterday at Natálya Anderle's Instagram. "Our company bought the Miss Brazil !!!!!"

Is the pageant going to be held?

Yes... Miss Brazil Univ 2015 will be at November, 19, in São Paulo.

João Appolinário, from Polishop, is the new owner and is said that he will give a upgrade to the pageant. Yesterday also the date was changed (because the semifinals of Brazilian Football was changed to Nov. 19) and now the contest will be held at November, 18 (at 22:30 PM).
Model and reporter Mariana Weikert is said to be the new presenter and so Renata Fan, Miss Brazil Univ 1999, lost her position.

Hope this time the new date is official

Was said days ago that the new owner would look with more attention to the pageant and the big surprise is the participation of Ford Models Brazil.
However, is unknown what will happen next year because there aren't official news. Maybe Ford Models can be a partner/coordinator, but many cities are already choosing their contestants in the "old model".
