Her roommate was Miss Brazil, Marta Rocha. Miss Connecticut speaks Spanish and Miss Brazil didn’t speak English, so Miss Connecticut was the interpreter of Miss Brazil. People thought Miss Connecticut was Miss Brazil because she is dark-haired and Miss Brazil was Miss Connecticut because she is blond.
