Sobre
El Festival Folklórico y Reinado Nacional e Internacional del Arroz se llevara a cabo del 15 al 20 de Enero en la ciudad arrocera de Aguazul, Casanare, Colombia.
Missão
Lograr el reposicionamiento internacional de Aguazul como una importante productora de arroz y una ciudad con gran diversidad cultural, empresarial y turística.
Descrição
Como es costumbre, el Municipio de Aguazul celebrará el Festival Folclórico y Reinado Internacional del Arroz; este Festival se celebra en Aguazul desde 1.988. En su desarrollo a través del tiempo, este evento ha pasado de ser una sencilla y dedicada celebración en torno a su producto bandera a ser un certamen de talla nacional e internacional, y en el cual se ha contado con la participación de candidatas de panamá, Venezuela, Estados Unidos, Mexico y diferentes regiones de nuestro país respaldadas por sus nombramientos departamentales, como Boyaca, Meta, Cundinamraca, Caldas, Bogotá, Valle, Santander, Norte de Santander, Antioquia, Caquetá, Quindío, entre otros.

I WAS LOOKING AT THE CONTESTANTS AND I REALLY LIKE MISS: CUNDINAMARCA, PERU, TOLIMA, BRAZIL AND ARGENTINA.  

tongue PANAMA SHOULD PARTICIPATE BECAUSE PANAMANIANS ARE GREAT CONSUMERS OF RICE.  tongue  WE CONSUME RICE FROM OUR OWN NATIONAL RICE PRODUCTION WHICH HAS DECREASED IN THE PAST FEW YEARS AND FROM OTHER "LATIN AMERICAN" COUNTRIES AS WELL.  I love you sunny Cool

Rice is not native to the Americas but was introduced to Latin America and the Caribbean by European colonizers at an early date with Spanish colonizers introducing Asian rice to Mexico in the 1520s at Veracruz and the Portuguese and their African slaves introducing it at about the same time to Colonial Brazil.[60] Recent scholarship suggests that enslaved Africans played an active role in the establishment of rice in the New World and that African rice was an important crop from an early period.[61] Varieties of rice and bean dishes that were a staple dish along the peoples of West Africa remained a staple among their descendants subjected to slavery in the Spanish New World colonies, Brazil and elsewhere in the Americas.
The Native Americans of what is now the Eastern United States may have practiced extensive agriculture with forms of wild rice.

In Brasil is tradition eat rice with beans (arroz com feijão), steak and salad (also with potatos and eggs).
