CECILIA BOLOCCO BORN ON MAY 19, 1965 IN SANTIAGO DE CHILE; WAS CROWNED MISS CHILE UNIVERSE 1987 WHO A FEW WEEKS AFTER HER NATIONAL CROWNING BECAME MISS UNIVERSE 1987; ON MAY 26, 1987 IN THE ASIAN COUNTRY, SINGAPORE.

BOLOCCO HAS EXPANDED HER TALENTS FROM A BEAUTY QUEEN TO AN ACTRESS, JOURNALIST, MODEL, DESIGNER, TV HOST. DURING HER REIGN AS MISS UNIVERSE SHE RESIDED IN CALIFORNIA AND SOME TIME AFTER HER REIGN SHE MOVED TO ATLANTA. THEN SHE STARTED WORKING IN ONE OF THE TOP SPANISH TELEVISION CHANNELS, TELEMUNDO, WHERE SHE WAS A HOST OF A LIFESTYLE SHOW "LA BUENA VIDA" FOLLOWED BY BEING A JOURNALIST FOR THE "SPANISH VERSION OF CNN", ANOTHER NEWS RELATED PROGRAM ENTITLED "OCURRIO ASI"; THERE WAS A LATE NIGHT SHOW "ESTA NOCHE CON CECILIA BOLOCCO". DURING THIS PHASE OF TELEVISION SUCCESS CECILIA WON TWO EMME AWARDS. SHE WAS AN ACTRESS IN THE SOAP OPERAS: "MORELIA" AND "BETTY LA FEA" IN WHICH SHE HAD A SMALL ROLL ACTING AS HERSELF. SHE DESIGNS FOR HER CLOTHING LINE, "CECILIA BOLOCCO PARA APOLOGY".

CECILIA BOLOCCO WAS MARRIED TWICE. EXACTLY 14 YEARS AFTER HER MISS UNIVERSE CROWNING, CECILIA BOLOCCO MARRIED CARLOS MENEM WHO SHE DIVORCED ON MAY, 2011; BOLOCCO AND MENEM HAD A SON ON NOVEMBER, 2003, MAXIMO SAUL MENEM BOLOCCO.

Never seen a MU with a cigarrette before.

Since I live in Las Vegas, I get to attend pageants a lot and meet a lot of the contestants for MU when it's held here, I can tell you that a lot of the girls who compete are smokers. Some girls who even did well in the competition when it was held here last (2010 & 2012) were smokers and I know girls from other years who were smokers when it wasn't held here, I won't say names though. But this is the 1st time I've seen an MU with a cigarette publicly, I don't know if Cecilia was a smoker or not though. Anyways, I love Cecilia and she's one of my favorite MU's from the 80's along with Angela Visser but she looked better when she won MU than today.

I THINK THAT SHE WASN'T THE BEST OF THE COMPETITION BUT SHE HAD A GOOD PERFORMANCE THROUGHOUT THE PAGEANT AND "BOOM"… SHE WON. Smile

I KNOW THAT SHE IS NOT THE PRETTIEST BUT I LIKE HER BECAUSE SHE HAS 45+ YEARS AND SHE IS STILL RELEVANT AND INNOVATIVE IN HER PROFESSIONAL CAREER. WHEN IT COMES TO WORK SHE CAN BE AN INSPIRATION.

YES, BEAUTY PAGEANT CONTESTANTS ARE AS HUMAN AS ANYONE ELSE BUT IT IS STRANGE TO SEE THEM NOT BEING THE "GOOD-ROLE-MODELS" THAT ARE USUALLY EXPECTED. Rolling Eyes

I agree that they are humans but they should be good role models as well, but they do it more privately than publicly so its somewhat acceptable. but neither of the winners when it was held here (Ximena & Olivia) were among the smokers, but a lot of girls who did well were. And yes, it doesn't day anything really, I've seen modelling pictures of some contestants holding cigarettes but they weren't smokers.
