There are 2 E's & 2 U's because it is more than 1 state (in plural) so it is EE.UU.

It will be interesting to see how this turns out, but I'm not a fan of this idea! I think the winner should represent a country or a territory, by the way, this is for Latinas all over the world, not just in the United States! I think this might just be a way to get a Cuban girl to compete in Miss Universe

I THINK THAT THIS MISS LATINA IS THE BEGINNING/INTRODUCTION OF A NEW SYSTEM THAT WILL EMERGE FOR MISS UNIVERSE.  


I LIKE THIS CONCEPT BECAUSE IT IS AN ALTERNATIVE FOR LATINAS TO REPRESENT LATIN BEAUTY, CULTURE AND HISTORY AT ONE OF THE TOP WORLD PAGEANTS, LIKE MISS UNIVERSE.  LATIN BEAUTY IS RECOGNIZED AND WE LIKE BEAUTY PAGEANTS SO IT SERVES FOR CULTURE, BUSINESS, MAKING HISTORY IN BEAUTY PAGEANTS, ETC.  

IN THE UNITED STATES HISPANIC/LATINA WINNERS OR FINALISTS HAVE BEEN VERY MINIMAL COMPARED TO THE "WHITE, NON HISPANIC/LATINO" OR EVEN "AFRICAN AMERICAN-NON HISPANIC LATINO" AND THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY AND AN ALTERNATIVE FOR LATINAS WHO ARE OF LATIN DESCEND OR FOREIGN BORN TO COMPETE IN MISS UNIVERSE.  
I HAVE TO ADD THAT NOW MORE LATINAS ARE COMPETING FOR THIS TITLE BECAUSE  OUR POPULATION HAS GROWN SIGNIFICANTLY SPECIALLY FROM THE 1980'S WHEN MORE CENTRAL AMERICANS IMMIGRATED TO THE UNITED STATES METROPOLITAN CITIES, WHERE OTHER CARIBBEAN AND SOUTH AMERICANS HAD ALREADY BEEN STABLISHED.

1 PT AGAINST THIS NEW CONCEPT IS JUST THAT MAYBE OTHER CULTURES &/ ETHNICITIES SHOULD ALSO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE DIRECTLY REPRESENTED IN MISS UNIVERSE LIKE AFRICAN AMERICANS OR ASIANS WHO ARE ALSO NUMEROUS IN THE UNITED STATES AND ENJOY BEAUTY PAGEANTS AS WELL.  IN OTHER WORDS I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST BUT I WILL LIKE THIS TO BE EXPANDED.

I don't agree with it, I find it kind of stupid to be honest...but I did not except anything better from Donald!
So the original consept, a girl represents a country, no longer applies!!
A Latina from USA.... so another miss USA for the crown...not very fair or even logical!! I am losing interest in MU lately, this is propably going to make me lose it even faster! So what's next a Latina or American girl living in Italy/Spain/Uk/China??

I understand that the ratings are going down and the number of the contestants is getting smaller but instead of destroying the original idea/the foundation of the competition, they should try to produce a more exciting and up to date show!

I agree, this whole thing is still not very clear to me, and I hope the winner (if she's Cuban) has the opportunity to represent a country in MU! Or even if a non-Cuban wins, I hope they at least get to represent a place, for example if a Venezuelan girl wins she could be Miss Margarita Island or if a Mexican wins she could be Miss Riviera Maya. If they want to do this, they should allow regions to compete as well in my opinion.

Trump is a big fan of the latina girls. He spoke abou this some times. But... other latina girl, withou a band, is not a good idea for me. If this is so, we can have a Asia Universe, a Africa Universe, a Europe Universe band... In Brazil a lot thing this is only for make money for Trump and Telemundo TV. Business and audiences only.

OPINION
Thats very bad for the image of the new MLU. Reflects a disorganization. OR...
1) I read that a lot of countries did not accept the idea of other latina girl, without band
2) They will not fight with the media/marketing in World Cup's times.

I read that they haven't a new date. I think that if they had problems now (after 1 year of organization), July will not be the month of the pageant.
PS: what people say in the network is that a lot of countries did no accept the idea of a girl without band/sash.
