I highly suggest you watch this documentary, I found it on youtube and it's about the Miss Venezuela Pageant and the journey to Miss Venezuela through one of the contestants last year (Wi May Nava, Miss Cojedes & 1st Runner Up).

This is really shocking, this is extreme to a whole new level! I can't believe she did that to her tongue just to loose weight! I'm glad they don't go this far in Colombia and other parts of Latin America!

A french tv channel already do a reportage like that some years ago. I found this ineguality between poor and rich people absolutly ... oO

and this place a plastic surgery in venezuelan pageant make me scared because genrally after some girl don't look like there were before

A LOT OF SUBJECTS/THEMES ARE COVERED IN THIS DOCUMENTARY: POLITICS, CRIME LEVELS, LIFESTYLE, MISS VENEZUELA'S STAFF EXPECTATIONS AND POINTS OF VIEW. MAYBE THIS IS TO ADD TO THE REASONS BEHIND WHAT PUSHES OR MAKES A GIRL BECOME MISS VENEZUELA AND HOW IT ALL WORKS. IT'S VERY INTERESTING.

IT LOOKS LIKE BEING A BEAUTY QUEEN IS THE ONLY WAY FOR SOME GIRLS IN VENEZUELA TO REALLY IMPROVE THEIR LIVES, JUST LIKE THE 1st RUNNER UP.

In my opinion, we own our bodies and I don't care what ever you do to them unless you are family or very close to me. But that tongue mesh thing is disgusting and she could lose her tongue if she takes it off. If she wants to do that, ok, but why wouldn't she want to exercise and eat healthy regularly? It would do the same thing but it would be a safer and healthier alternative. In Colombia, surgery is optional and it's usually done when you haven't even won the national pageant yet, since CNB doesn't prepare the girls for the international contest, they just provide wardrobe, gowns and the national costume, the training is the girls responsibility! I showed this to my Venezuelan friend and this was the 1st time he's ever heard of the tongue mesh thing as well. I also don't understand that if her family was so poor, how could they afford all the surgeries?
