"Which are really the criteria?", asked a lot of fans.
Paraguay, a real beautiful girl, was out and Egipt in. Detail: Egipt was not so beautiful and her body was not goo. This was only one of the parts. The Latina girl also placed in 2nd in the general medal list. So, the general medals, beauty and a good body were not the criterias.
Other: India was the 2nd in the add points of EG and SS and did not make the top. So, SS and EG weren't the criterias also.
Interview? Maybe, but this cannot explain all.

Two days after the crowning, the Org ME made a announcement in its Facebook:
"Miss Earth Pageant
Message from Carousel Productions, Inc.
Although the management was not able to give an announcement or explanation earlier as required, the decision to not include the winner of the Yahoo Beauty for a Cause in the top 16 in the Miss Earth finals had been thoroughly discussed and agreed on by the management involved because, as observed, the voting process will be unfair to those countries who cannot fully participate in the voting due to the limited availability of the specified Yahoo voting page which resulted in limited accessibility of the voters from countries. As observed, There were also times when the voting link or news banner on the Yahoo home page will not be available to give way to other immediate news. If a voting process with limited scope and inconsistent voting site will produce results that will be unfair to other participating countries this form of voting will be stopped in fairness to all concerned."


Jaime, the newly ME, defends her win: "You know, sometimes you can’t change the minds of people who think that way. I just have to keep quiet about that."
